About the Youth Summer Art Intensive:
During the summer of 2020, Richmond Art Gallery and Richmond Public Art Program hosted a 3-week intensive art program for a select group of Richmond artists aged 15-18 years. Participants worked with lead artist instructor Emily Neufeld, guest artists Holly Schmidt and Laara Cerman, and herbalist Lori Snyder to create projects based on explorations of their natural environment. The culmination of their studies led to the development of a photographic lantern for a public art installation in the ponds at Minoru Park during the fall of 2020.
