Draw in the garden with RAG Educational Staff!
Immerse yourself in the Cultural Centre’s Rooftop garden during these afternoon art workshops. Guided by artist educator Mona Lochan, these 3 hour workshops offer the opportunity to draw or paint “en plein air” using the garden plants as your subject matter. Learn to draw from observation and experiment with watercolours to play with colours and shapes in the tranquil setting.
Open to both beginners and experienced artists, combining guidance with creative freedom.
Recommended for ages 16+. Children must be accompanied by an adult participant.

In the months leading up to Richmond Art Gallery’s FOODWAYS exhibition this fall, we are hosting a variety of workshops and events at the Cultural Centre Rooftop Garden during the summer growing season. Events include talks on gardening tips, hands-on art workshops, and food-making workshops hosted in partnership with the Richmond Arts Centre and Richmond Garden Club.

About the Rooftop Garden:
Richmond’s Rooftop Garden is located on the 2nd floor of the Richmond Library/Cultural Centre, open from April – October. It features a variety of floral and food plants maintained by the Richmond Garden Club, with a long picnic table to host small group workshops or events, and a big chess game for players of all ages.
