Corrie Jackson is the RBC Senior Curator, managing the growth and oversite of the RBC Art Collection, which has been growing since 1929. She oversees the international art collection team, developing strategy and engagement surrounding RBC’s support of the visual arts. A graduate of the Master of Visual Studies, Curatorial Practice program at the University of Toronto, Jackson’s curatorial interests focus on cross-generational dialogues and developing the role of collections as accountable and inclusive narratives.
Corrie discussed the roles corporations play in the Canadian art ecology, and the processes and drivers of RBC’s collecting. She also shares insights into the processes of collecting and installing work, and the role of audience in spaces outside of gallery settings.
This edition of the Artist Salon was an online live-streamed event with Q&A from online participants.
The Artist Salon is an opportunity for emerging and established visual artists to learn from arts professionals and discuss opportunities in the arts community. Each month presents a different guest presenter for inspirational talks and professional development advice for visual artists.
