During the NOURISH exhibition, January 22 – April 3, 2022, the gallery hosted many online programs related to the exhibition. Panel Discussions revolved around ideas of nourishment in its many forms, from personal or historical stories of family and food inspired by Jane Wong’s works, to ways we find solace in nature and more internal forms of nourishment as discussed by artist duo Mizzonk.

Hosted by Jen Sungshine & David Ng of Love Intersections, guest artist Jane Wong joins a session of Hot Pot Talks to discuss topics ranging from anti-Asian racism, diasporic food cultures, and the role that labour plays in art and cultural production.
Panel Discussion with visual artist Tom Hsu, writer Eddie Kim, and writer and exhibiting artist Jane Wong share personal stories about growing up in a family restaurant.
Food writer and critic Alexandra Gill, chef and restaurant owner Bo Li, and Associate Professor of History Henry Yu offer historical and contemporary views of food culture in Richmond and Vancouver’s Chinatown.
Artists Wan-Yi Lin and Roger Chen are joined by Professors Heesoon Bai and Denise Findlay to reflect on ideas around nourishment by way of relationships – with oneself, others, and with the land.
