Once per exhibition, RAG presents a Collage Party for adults. It’s the perfect opportunity to get together with friends and make some art!
This session features exhibiting artist Zoë Kreye who will talk about her works in the It begins with knowing and not knowing exhibition, followed by demonstrating the creation of collaged and layered works with textiles that refer to embodied experiences.
Participants are invited to experiment with simple art materials while you chat, listen to music, and meet other artists.
SESSION FORMAT:
1:00 PM – ART GALLERY – Meet the artist in the Art Gallery for a short discussion and tour.
2:00 – 4:00 PM – CULTURAL CENTRE ATRIUM – Join us in the Atrium to spend some time making your own collaged works!
All materials provided, recommended for ages 16+.
Registration is required due to limited seating at this free event.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large number of “no-shows” for free events, if session is full on Eventbrite, please email programs@richmondartgallery.org with the subject: Collage Party and # of seats required (max 4). We will do our best to ensure everyone who wants to participate is able to find a seat.
About the Guest Artist:
Zoe Kreye’s interdisciplinary art projects explore transformation, collective experience, and the disembodiment of western culture through immersive installation, performance and tactile sculptures. Combining expansive gestural lines, sensorial materials and somatic ritual processes, Kreye’s work invites viewers into a depth of feeling that signals mutual transformative capacities. Kreye’s work has been long-listed for the Sobey Art Award 2024. Recent exhibitions include: I know about lots of things I’ve never seen. And so do you., Kamloops Art Gallery (2023); Uncommon Language, Vancouver Art Gallery (2021); Art By Post, Southbank Centre London; The School of WE, Graz Austria (2021); and Person/ne, Griffin Art Projects,
