Free hands-on art making social for artists! The Artist Salon moves to an in-person session for a hands-on art making activity to encourage networking, mingling, and creativity with our artist community.
Inspired by the upcoming fall exhibition that will include Mail Art, or works that are sent through the postal system, develop your own postcard sized artworks using a variety of drawing, collaging, and mixed media techniques.
Art Gallery staff will lead an introduction to the history of Mail Art and how participants can opt to have one of their artworks in the upcoming Mail Art Exhibition Fundraiser. All materials provided, but artists are welcome to bring their own specialty collage tools and non-toxic materials*.
Registration required due to limited spaces.
This session is for artists of all skill levels, ages 18+.
*Please note – space is not equipped for use of oil-based materials.
The Artist Salon is an opportunity for emerging and established visual artists to learn from arts professionals and discuss opportunities in the arts community. Each month presents a different guest presenter for inspirational talks and professional development advice for visual artists.
Past live sessions from 2020 onwards are recorded and may be viewed online at the RAG@Home Artist Salon videos.
Program is supported by the City of Richmond Arts and Culture grant.
