Attendees will learn more about the multiple ways fabricators work with artists to realize public artwork projects.

Jock Hildebrand Foundry | Jock Hildebrand
Jock Hildebrand is a sculptor who operates a unique bronze casting foundry on Vancouver Island. The Foundry is available to those who need dedicated space in which to cast, fabricate and finish bronze sculptures and projects of any size and complexity. His unique service offers artists a facility for bronze art production, as well as support, skills and guidance. This includes modeling, mold-making, casting, patination and wax production.
Solid Rock Steel Fabricating Co. Ltd. | Peter Steunenberg
A family-owned business since 1969, Solid Rock Steel provides custom steel fabrication services for construction industries. More recently, they have worked with international and local artists to fabricate public art projects. Their services include 3D laser scanning, fabrication, welding, sandblasting & painting and field installation.

Art at Work is a series of professional development workshops designed for artists and arts organizations practicing in any artistic medium. The program is presented in partnership by the City of Richmond Arts Services, Richmond Public Art, and Richmond Art Gallery. The program is intended to provide artists and arts organizations with knowledge and skills relevant to pursuing a professional practice in the field of public art, performance, visual art and community arts.
