    Join exhibiting artist August Klintberg and 2026 Richmond Writer in Residence, Aaron Chan for a special Talkback Tour exploring how both creators use personal storytelling and queer perspectives to examine identity, place, and community.

    This free, drop-in session invites visitors to share their responses while engaging in an open, thoughtful conversation with two artists whose practices overlap in meaningful and resonant ways.

    Talkback Tours are open to everyone—no art expertise required. Community members are encouraged to share personal responses, ask questions, and explore multiple perspectives together in a welcoming, participatory setting.

    RSVP encouraged.

    About the Artists: 

    August Klintberg (he/him, formerly Mark Clintberg) is an artist who works in the field of art history, and he is an Associate Professor at the Alberta University of the Arts. Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain represents his practice. His work is represented in many collections including the National Gallery of Canada, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Bank of Montreal Corporate Art Collection, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and Edmonton Arts Council. In 2013 he was shortlisted for the Sobey Art Award.

    Aaron Chan is a musician, filmmaker and writer born and raised on unceded Coast Salish territories (Vancouver, BC). He holds a BFA from the University of British Columba and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of California Riverside. Aaron is the author of This City is a Minefield, the Children’s picture book The Broken Heart, and the self-published poetry chapbook Romantic Hopeless.
