This exhibition by Stuart McCall and Neil Wedman is comprised of two separate bodies of work—drawings and photographs. The artworks were made years apart but are linked by an indelible local history in the subject of Bill Vander Zalm’s Fantasy Garden World. Wedman attended the proceedings of the Vander Zalm trial in 1991 and made numerous pencil portraits of the witnesses as they testified. Years later, McCall documented the neglected gardens just prior to demolition by its new land developer owners. The photographs reflect the demise prior to redevelopment of a once upon a time tourist attraction tainted by political controversy and changing economics.
Stuart McCall and Neil Wedman have been exhibiting for over 25 years each and have collaborated on various projects for over a decade, each working in their own specialty.
