Sunshine Frère shares her experiences as an artist and arts worker who has worked within the commercial, artist-run, and public gallery systems. She will lead a discussion on the commercial gallery system and strategies for obtaining representation. This session will also include a presentation on selecting the appropriate online platforms for artists to market their work.

Sunshine Frère is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver. She has an MA from Goldsmiths, and a BFA from Concordia University. In addition to her art practice, she is a member of Access Gallery’s Board, and was the Associate Director at Winsor Gallery from 2012-2015. Frère was also Managing Director at TENDERPIXEL. (a London based artist-run/commercial gallery) from 2007-2011. She currently works as a writer, curator, instructor and arts programmer for various arts organizations.
