Student Artwork: Pollen Sculptures

Ms. Miller’s 3D Sculpture class created mixed media sculptures of magnified pollen grains. The sculptures were made primarily from clay, model magic, and paint, but also incorporated additional materials such as tissue paper, breakfast cereal, and colourful candies to reproduce the unique shape, form, and texture of pollen grains.  Photos by Melanie Devoy.

This project was made possible by a Richmond Community Foundation Impact Grant. Thanks to their support, the Richmond Art Gallery was able to partner with 3 schools, 6 artists, and 4 teachers to develop a year-long project that reached hundreds of local students and their families. Thank you!
