    Manager, Parks Operations, City of Richmond

    Please join the Richmond Garden Club at the Richmond Cultural Centre Performance Hall for an update of all the incredible biodiverse plantings in our very special community.

    Free drop in, ages 18+.

    About the Presenter:
    Egan Davis has had a lifelong passion for horticulture. As a horticulture instructor, Egan has taught in the Horticulture Education Program at UBC Botanical Garden, in the UBC Urban Forestry Program, and through VanDusen Botanical Garden’s Adult Education Program.

    As Parks Operations Manager, he has a big job! He is responsible for 140 parks in Richmond, covering 2153 acres of land and encompassing a vast range of growing conditions from maritime seaside to grassland, wooded areas and bogs. He is active in the industry and sits on various committees and Boards, and has participated in both local and international projects.

    About Rooftop Garden Series :
    June – September 2024

    In the months leading up to Richmond Art Gallery’s FOODWAYS exhibition this fall, we are hosting a variety of workshops and events at the Cultural Centre Rooftop Garden during the summer growing season. Events include talks on gardening tips, hands-on art workshops, and food-making workshops hosted in partnership with the Richmond Arts Centre and Richmond Garden Club.

    About the Rooftop Garden:
    Richmond’s Rooftop Garden is located on the 2nd floor of the Richmond Library/Cultural Centre, open from April – October. It features a variety of floral and food plants maintained by the Richmond Garden Club, with a long picnic table to host small group workshops or events, and a big chess game for players of all ages.
