BOTH PERFORMANCES ARE NOW SOLD OUT

Cave to Dream is a multi-media installation that is realized in mixed media, hand-drawn animations, sound and live action video and track the passage of time, life and death and the power of dream through four fictions. The four fictions also bearing the same title to the objects SaltShadowSnow and Onyx are four stories that reflect light and darkness taking place and moving through various dreamscapes, environments, and spaces of the psyche.

Two scheduled performances take place inside the installation which becomes activated as a theatrical space by 4 performers who wear the costumes and masks that take on the role of a figure bearing the resemblance of the Nama Hage demon ( a tradition of Akita-ken where a masked demon performer arrives on December 31st to scare away bad luck from your home) and the Yuki Onna (a form of Japanese yokai, the snow woman).  The performers guide small groups of audience members through an intimate experience of ritual and a game using the porcelain objects that will enable audiences to end up viewing one of the four films. The viewing experience is accompanied by the presence of these performers, food and drink.
