Galleries operate very differently depending on what country you are in.  Learn about the structure and protocol of the Canadian Art Gallery system to save time, effort and money when searching for exhibition opportunities.  Presenter Debra Zhou will discuss the differences between different types of galleries and opportunities for visual artists.  Some Mandarin translation is available.

Debra Zhou is an independent curator, editor, translator, social media specialist and artist. She is currently the Communications Specialist at the Vancouver Art Gallery.  Past positions  include editor for YISHU: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art’s Chinese language version,  Online Communication and Community Outreach Coordinator at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Assistant Curator for Centre A: Vancouver International Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, and Curatorial Intern at Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art.
