Guest Artist Bio:
After over a decade as a house music lover and supporter of the local scene, Beaubien was born when Lila Bujold started mixing soulful and deep house music after her favorite club night ended and there was nowhere to hear the uplifting and classic style of house music she craved. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC this West Coast Canadian found a deep affection and love for East Coast House Music: soulful vocals, happy keys and rich bass lines bring depth and warmth to her mixes.
Beaubien’s Carte Blanche radio show airs every Saturday night 7-8pm PST on SPiNZFM.COM and mixes the best in soulful and deep house with an uplifting and inspirational vibe. Over the last three and a half years, Beaubien has held a residency at the Distillery Bar in Vancouver where she mixes the “sounds of the future past” ; crooner, 60s spy movie, soul, swing and jazz classics and modern throwbacks.
“I get chills from a great piano lick, a bold woman singing about how it is great to be alive and the deep rhythm of house” – DJ Beaubien
