Doors Open Richmond is a free weekend-long, city-wide public celebration of heritage, culture and the arts held on June 2 and 3. This year, the Richmond Art Gallery is one of the 41 destinations that will open their doors and offer culturally rich and inclusive experiences for free. These destinations include heritage sites, museums, places of worship, green spaces, specialty business, art galleries and artist studios.
During Doors Open Richmond, Gallery docents will be on-site to offer tours and answer questions in English and Mandarin about the off-site public art project Lululiving. Lululiving is a small-scale dwelling on wheels designed and built by Vancouver artist, Germaine Koh. Koh demonstrates the values of accessibility, sustainability, creative space design, and self-sufficiency in building small.
Visit the interior of this 160 ft² house while Richmond Art Gallery prepares Germaine Koh’s exhibition Home Made Home, opening June 16, 2018. The work is located outside of the main entrance of the Richmond Cultural Centre, in the grassy area near the fountain.
Free admission, all ages welcome.
Presented in partnership with Public Art Richmond.
