ART FOR TEACHERS: Provincial Pro-D Day Workshop
Friday, October 21, 2016, 9:30am – 3:00pm
This full day workshop features art lessons that explore the diverse cultures of the Pacific Rim and BC First Nations, and the ways that art traditions transform through contact with different cultures. Cultural appropriation and the effects of colonization on art will be explored through the rich fusion of cultures in Shawn Hunt’s sculptural “mash-ups” and Diyan Achjadi’s colourful prints and drawings, which will serve as inspiration for a series of classroom-friendly projects in a variety of art mediums. Includes art materials, lesson plans and light refreshments (lunch not included). $40 per person, pre-registration required.
Course Full – Wait List Only
