March 7 - March 9, 2007
Opening Celebration: Friday, March 7th from 7-9pm

The Finn Slough Heritage and Wetlands Society in conjunction with the RAG are pleased to present the eighth annual exhibition, Art About Finn Slough, in the Lecture Hall at the Richmond Cultural Centre. Finn Slough is a tiny, relatively unchanged Richmond fishing community where the tides, plants, animals and humans each have their own ecological niche. Artists have found inspiration in Finn Slough, a place that recalls Richmond’s history, but also one that presents an alternative to a fast-paced, urban lifestyle.

This year’s theme for the Art About Finn Slough Show is "A Bridge to History". This year’s "bridge" theme provides an opportunity for artists and writers who want to participate in this show to reflect on the idea that Finn Slough, as it still exists, provides a kind of bridge, joining present day Richmond to its own history. The opening celebration features live music, snacks, and good conversations! Harold Steves will speak about bridge related history 8 pm.

The exhibition will be held in the Lecture Hall at the Richmond Cultural Centre. For further informaiton, please call 604.272.5723, 604.271.3109, or 604.274.0057
