Capsules of Time

August 8, 2002 - September 12, 2002

Hundreds of sheets of my paper will cover the gallery walls. Each section of a row will reflect a period of time on a particular day natural plant material is gathered and paper is made. My work is a collaboration with nature. A relationship that has no scientific delineation or socially accepted way of describing it. It is a non-traditional relationship with plant forms and physical places. My environment is the source of the materials I use, and the essence of my work reflects my love for gathering, preserving and raising awareness for respectful use of the environment. From the grass, seaweed, bark, fern and other plants that I collect, I create paper without the use of additives – just the plant material.
