Art After Dark Remix : March Session

Richmond Art Gallery and the Richmond Media Lab host a monthly evening of hands-on art and music making.

Marina Szijarto will be our guest artist in March, working with participants on the art of ‘creative public actions’ to develop costume elements or props inspired by the photographic works of Meryl McMaster, that can be used in public gatherings, peace marches, or arts events. Participants are also invited to create music and remixes during short demonstrations on the DJ equipment held throughout the session.

Free admission, all art materials and equipment provided.
Recommended for ages 14+

Marina Szijarto is a Visual and Celebration Artist with a diverse and eclectic arts practice who works within the medium of Theatre, Dance and performance (Set, Costumes & Poster design) and Community-engaged Rites and Celebrations. Marina is a Jessie Richardson award winning professional costume and set designer in Canadian theatre and has also worked on numerous community engaged public art projects (in various mediums). She lives in beautiful Finn Slough, has a degree in Embroidery and has been know to belly-dance on stilts (as Ms Demeanour). When she grows up she would like to be a milliner for drag queens and small dogs.
