Issue #1, March 2006

New RAG neon sign: The sign will change locations when the Minoru window is being used for a site specific installation. But it will always be visible and we hope that there will be fewer people in Richmond saying I didn't know we had an art gallery. The printed RAG Newsletter has served our members and art enthusiasts for many years. We are now updating its form and we know that you will enjoy the new electronic version. This e-Newsletter (the RAGe) will enable us to publish more frequently and to reach a much broader community not only in Richmond and BC, but across Canada and internationally. It will link to the new, more comprehensive web site www.richmondartgallery.org. And, rather than duplicating material that is distributed in other forms, the RAGe will direct you to that material and to extended texts on the internet. In turn, we can redirect the cost of printing the newsletter into other original publications related to our exhibitions and programming.

Jane Wolsak talks to an engaged audience at on of her Artist Talks.

Looking Back

There was a lot of interest in Jane Wolsak's exhibition, Courtroom Drawings. Jane gave two Artist Talks during her show; one to high school students through our Studio Satellite program and the other during an evening talk open to the public. In both instances a very engaged audience kept Jane busy with their questions. Jane missed her ferry talking with students and closed the Gallery with her evening talk. Everyone loves a drama.
